Research Priorities

Conducting research on:

• Epidemiological studies on obesity among different age and sex groups
• Intervention studies to curtail and prevent obesity, with an emphasis on children and adolescents.
• Cross-sectional, cohort and case-control studies to evaluate the complications of overweight and obesity in these individuals.

Important Activities

• Preparing and devising practical plans on different aspects of obesity
• Holding specialized symposia and specialized obesity workshops for adults and adolescents
• Participating in holding national obesity conferences biannually
• Determining epidemiological indices related to obesity in adults and adolescents.
• Generating knowledge through publishing articles in ISI-indexed journals.
